Our very own Bianca @its_biancak has been awarded the 2017 International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) Volunteer of the Year. Her commitment and services will now take her to Cape Town South Africa for a two week volunteer mission.
Cape Town, a city of 4 million, is less than 2 months away from becoming the World’s first major city to run out of water. Yes...RUN OUT OF WATER!! South Africa is currently experiencing the worst drought in history lasting three years.
After ‘Day Zero,’ which is now set to be May 11, water, already rationed at 50 liters / person daily will only be available at 200 collection stations throughout the city.
In partnership with The City Eats we are raising funds to help those in Cape Town. SO HELP AND DONATE TOWARDS A WORTHY INTERNATIONAL CAUSE https://www.gofundme.com/letshelpcapetown)
With the money raised we will purchase much needed #hygiene supplies such as: dry shampoo, packets of wipes, hand sanitizer, talc powder. Meals will be provided for the community and the remaining funds will be donated to additional relief efforts currently out in Cape Town
Please bring a duffle bag to help store and carry out meals for distribution. 10am Welcome, Orientation and Meal Prep 11am Meal Distribution Open to all ages!
